Curious about battery energy storage systems (BESS) and how they work with solar in Alberta? Join us for a public-oriented webinar on Oct 29, 2026, to learn the ins and outs of how and why battery storage is being used in various contexts in Alberta, as well as how BESS might be used in the future.
The panelists include Lisa Vagi, a homeowner and member of Solar Alberta’s Board of Directors, Kai Fahrion, CEO Zeno Renewables, and Brent Harris, COO of Eguana Technologies. The presentations will be followed by an opportunity for you to ask questions.
Speaker Bios:
Lisa Vagi
Lisa is passionate about supporting solutions to the climate crisis with clean energy and climate action. She is a homeowner with a solar array and battery energy storage system, and is on Solar Alberta’s Board of Directors. As a process engineer, Lisa uses her systems thinking mindset to find holistic solutions to technical problems in her job as a Building Performance Engineer on the Carbon Impact Team at Stantec. She believes that affordable clean energy is achievable for all Albertans and is eager to help.
Kai Fahrion
Kai Fahrion is CEO and co-founder of Zeno Renewables, an Alberta-based solar installation company that has completed more than 5,500 installations and deployed more than 50 megawatts of clean energy across the country. During his 11 years at Zeno, Kai has helped many homeowners reduce their energy costs and take meaningful ownership over how their home is powered. Kai is driven by a straightforward belief that clean energy should be accessible and well-executed, and he brings that same hands-on commitment to every part of the business, from operations and team building to the commercial relationships that make long-term growth possible.
Brent Harris
Brent Harris is Founder and Chief Operating Officer at Eguana, a leading global supplier and operator of residential and commercial energy storage systems for utility grid services. Brent is an inventor of the Company’s technologies, has led the commercialization and sales of its products, and is now responsible for Eguana’s global operations. He is currently on the Board of Directors of Decentralised Energy Canada (DEC), an industry association supporting innovation and commercialization in Canada’s decentralised energy sector.
