Drop-In Sketching: Living History

Thursday, Aug. 20, 2026

Have you ever wished you could use the museum’s collections for sketching inspiration? Now’s your chance! We'll be showcasing rarely-seen museum objects to create a still-life setup for you to practice your drawing skills.

This month, however, we’re shaking things up – this is no still life! History will come alive with costumed staff from the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village who will pose with historical objects from the museum’s collection. Bring lots of paper – they'll be doing lots of different poses!

Tip: If you plan to attend more than one drop-in sketching session, buy a Mammoth Pass to save big ! For only $45 for an adult, you get a year’s worth of admission (including all the Drop-In Sketching sessions) and great discounts at the Museum Shop and Café.
