We invite you to join us for a scenic 20K bike loop with an optional 10K extension, starting at West Rivers Edge Pavilion. This ride is designed for average riders who enjoy a mix of paved and gravel trails.

What to Bring:

  • BYOB (Bring Your Own Bike or E-Bike): Ensure your bike is in good working order. One of our members will be available to assist with any bike issues, and we will have a first-aid kit on hand.
  • Weather-Appropriate Clothing: Dress according to the weather conditions, and bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.

Parking:
Parking is available at West Rivers Edge Pavilion.

Route:

This bike tour consists of two loops originating from the same starting point at West Rivers Edge:

First Loop: 20K Ride (Gravel & Paved)

  • 7 km on pavement and 13 km on gravel.
  • Travels south through WRE Park onto the RVA Strathcona Riverside Trail.
  • Crosses the river on the RVA/Edmonton/Strathcona Footbridge.
  • Returns on a slightly different route.
  • This loop is flat and beginner-friendly, with stops at scenic points of interest.

Optional Second Loop: 10K Ride (Paved & Gravel)

  • 9 km on pavement and 2 km on gravel.
  • Travels north through WRE Park onto the RVA Chabot Park Trail.
  • Crosses the river via the RVA Hwy 15 Footbridge.
  • Includes a short loop on the new city centre park gravel trail.
  • This route has two short hills that can be walked if necessary.
  • Includes scenic stops along the way.

Difficulty: Easy—Medium
This event suits average riders, with a leisurely pace and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. While there are two short hills on the route, they can be walked if necessary, ensuring a comfortable experience for all participants.

Schedule:
Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before the start time to check in and get situated. The group will depart promptly at 9:30 a.m. To help us stay on schedule, we ask that you arrive by 8:45 a.m.

Requirements:
Each participant must have a helmet and a bell to participate in this ride.

Additional Information:
Please remember to dress for the weather. In the event of inclement weather, we will notify participants of any cancellations.
