Join us for a hands-on evening of cooking, community and culture as you learn to make authentic Sri Lankan dishes from a local home cook.
Indulge in a variety of traditional Sri Lankan dishes and learn about the rich history and techniques behind each dish as our expert instructor guides you through this culinary adventure, sharing her culture with you through food.
Sri Lanka, known as the "Pearl of the Indian Ocean," is celebrated for its vibrant and diverse cuisine. Being under Portuguese, Dutch and English rule, it’s strategic locations that made it a crucial pit stop in trade routes and it’s diverse ethnic and multicultural society all contributed to the unique and diverse cuisine of Sri Lanka. From its bustling markets filled with spices and fresh ingredients to its warm hospitality, Sri Lankan food reflects the island’s unique blend of cultures, including Sinhalese, Tamil, Muslim, Burgher, and Malay communities. Experience the island's rich heritage through its tantalizing flavors and aromatic dishes, each with its own story to tell.
Whether you are a seasoned home chef or a beginner in the kitchen, this event is suitable for all skill levels. Come alone or bring your friends and family to enjoy this hands-on experience and savor the delicious flavors of Sri Lanka.
