A a luminescent night celebrating the release of Sheaji's I Wish I Was A Person, an Afro-surrealistic poetry collection exploring identity, invisibility, race, grief, love, faith, family, power, and the search for belonging.

Join us for a luminescent night celebrating the release of I Wish I Was A Person by Sheaji!

His sophomore Afro-surrealistic poetry collection explores identity, invisibility, race, grief, love, faith, family, power, and the search for belonging. Through mango trees, mirrors, mortars, mothers, lovers, gods, and ghosts, Sheaji turns personal memories and political history into poems that ask who gets to be recognized as fully human.
