Lixin is a local author in Edmonton. She writes experimental picture books for fun and inspiration. Lixin has a PhD in math education and has previously worked as a math educator in Canada.
The Super Slow Race is her debut self-published book. In The Super Slow Race, Slug, Snail, and Sloth from Super-Slow Town are boasting about how fast and how far they can run. Time for a race. Rabbit from Super-Fast Town will judge. What could possibly go wrong?
The Super Slow Race is suitable for children aged 5+. It waves math content (across multiple grades) into a humorous story. It can be read for entertainment or math education purposes in K-4 classrooms. The Super Slow Race is a creative collaboration of immigrants from China and Brazil. Its Portuguese version will be available soon.
