Presented by Alberta Blue Cross and hosted by the Lois Hole Hospital Women's Society, our Between Us talks focus on providing a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for sharing expert knowledge and discussing important women's health topics.

Did you know that 63% of adults in Canada report being exposed to a potentially traumatic event at some point in their life, with the number climbing to 67% among adult women?

Join us for the May session of Between Us on Thursday the 28th at 7 PM and listen in as clinical social workers Kristen Bassett-Berkiw, MSW, RSW, and Sesu Moyo, MSW, RSW, lead us in exploring how trauma is stored in the body, and how past experiences can shape safety, intimacy, and connection. Drawing from real-life patterns in women navigating work, motherhood, and relationships, this presentation offers a trauma-informed lens to understand how early experiences influence adult responses, and provides compassionate, practical ways to rebuild trust and connection within yourself and with others.

Kristen Bassett-Berkiw, MSW, RSW, is a clinical social worker in Edmonton who supports individuals, couples, and families through life’s transitions, both expected and deeply challenging. Using a trauma-informed, relational, anti-oppressive, and sex-positive approach, she works with people experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, intimacy or relationship challenges, sexual or religious trauma, and identity exploration, including clients from LGBTQ2S+ and Ethical Non-Monogamy communities. Kristen’s goal is to offer an inclusive, compassionate space where you feel seen, heard, and supported as you move toward greater clarity, resilience, and well-being.

Sesu Moyo, MSW, RSW, is a clinical social worker who specializes in sex therapy, relationships, and women’s issues. She supports individuals and couples through stress, change, and uncertainty with a trauma-informed approach. Her focus includes women’s concerns like self-esteem, body image, and motherhood, as well as relationship struggles such as communication, trust, and intimacy. Sesu creates a warm, supportive space where clients feel understood, valued, and empowered.
