Two estranged sisters cross war-torn Ukraine to bring home their wounded father—and face wounds in each other they'd long buried. Director: Lukasz Karwowski

About the film: Soon after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, two estranged sisters from Warsaw embark on a journey through war-torn Ukraine,  to bring home their wounded father. Absent from each other's lives for a decade, the sisters reunite. Their meeting opens old wounds and reveals truths that were easier to forget than face.

Diving into the emotional trauma of the sisters’ reunion, director Lukasz Karwowski creates a viewing experience that makes the drama feel realistic and vivid.  Along the journey, the sisters must walk, hitchhike, and travel by car through war-ravaged Ukraine, moving in and out of occupied territories, meeting and dealing with an array of characters, while navigating danger and their own relationship.

About the director: Lukasz Karwowski is a Polish screenwriter, director, and producer of feature films. Some of his well known works are: Listopad (November), Poludnie–Polnoc (South–North), and Mala wielka milosc (Expecting Love). Karwowski obtained a degree from the Film and Television Directing Department of the National Film School in Lodz. He has also directed over 150 TV commercials around the world for international advertising agencies and received many awards for his work.
