Join us in consolidation for the 5th Annual Run/Walk for Reconciliation to raise awareness surrounding the children of Residential Schools.

Every year this event has shown that so many of us want to show our support in raising awareness for this important cause. There are many survivors of Residential schools today who are still dealing with the trauma that they endured. This trauma has been passed on to children of survivors and so on. Acknowledging colonial history and its ongoing impact helps to keep this movement alive. It takes a community, and every step counts.

The Run/Walk will begin at the Lions Park and will end at the St Albert Healing Garden where we will have time to connect and reflect on the survivors, their families, and those children who never made it home. As you walk/run we recommend that you reflect personally on your own path to Reconciliation and what it means for you.

You will be provided with an orange ribbon that you will carry with you as you walk/run, and when you reach the Healing Garden you can tie the ribbon around the gazebo posts. There will be cards as well as markers if you want to leave a message with the ribbon.

The path will be marked. Dogs are welcome (on a leash of course). Free parking located next to the Lions Park. Paid parking is located across the street from the park. Bathrooms are on site at the start point.
There will be Indigenous dancers, drummers and guest speakers at the event.

If you need special accommodations, or have any questions or inquiries please reach out to event organizers to see how we can assist you at runremrec@gmail.com

We respectfully acknowledge that we are on Treaty 6 territory, traditional lands of First Nations and Métis peoples. With this acknowledgement we are grateful for the traditional knowledge keepers, and elders who are still with us today, and those who have gone before us for they have lived and cared for this land for generations.
