When our youth succeed, our city succeeds.

On May 7, 2025, iHuman Youth Society will present Canvas for Hope, an impactful fundraising luncheon at the Winspear Centre – bringing together art and urgent action.
Hosted by Ryan Jespersen, host of Real Talk, one of Canada’s most downloaded modern talk shows. This event will feature dynamic performances and a live painting by our young artists, as well as a light lunch in the main lobby with refreshments, and great company.

Art is More Than Creativity – It’s Survival.

For many youth in Edmonton, the challenges of trauma, homelessness, addiction, and mental health struggles can feel overwhelming, leaving them searching for a way to process their experiences and express their truth. In these moments, painting, music, and spoken word are not just forms of artistic expression—they become lifelines, offering a way to navigate pain, reclaim identity, and find hope.

At iHuman, we believe in the transformative power of art. Through trauma-informed arts programming, mentorship, and wrap-around support, we provide a safe space where youth  are seen, heard and valued. At iHuman, youth can heal through self-expression, build meaningful connections and develop the resilience they need to succeed.

Edmonton at a Crossroads.

The number of youth in crisis is rising, and without action, too many will fall through the cracks. Currently, more than 5,400 youth we serve are battling with the harsh realities of food insecurity, homelessness and poverty. These numbers have reached an all time high, and without action, many will be left behind. Every dollar raised at Canvas for Hope directly funds life-changing programs that keep marginalized youth safe, supported, and empowered.

When Our Youth Succeed – Our City Succeeds.

Join us at Canvas for Hope and be a part of a movement to empower and uplift Edmonton’s marginalized youth, using the power of art to heal and the power of community to succeed.
