Join our community cooking class to learn how to prepare a cultural dish, cook with friends, and package it to be shared with neighbours!
Touch Grass Club, New Grocery Movement, and the AUUC Youth Council are teaming up to bring you community cooking classes!
Once a month, we welcome all to meet at Edmonton's Ukrainian Centre, where we will learn the recipe for a cultural dish, work together to cook big batches, and then package warm meals to be shared with our food insecure neighbours. These classes are designed to take you on a flavourful journey, pairing the opportunity to improve your cooking skills and food knowledge, with the chance to fight food insecurity in our community. We will end the class by sitting down to enjoy a meal together and celebrate all we learned, cooked, and shared!
We are excited to announce that the March Cooking 4 Community class will feature an Indian dish, Aloo Paratha (spiced potato flatbread), led by Varshini Prakash.
We are grateful to The Cherry Pit and Bear Claw who are partnering for this initiative to distribute our warm meals to neighbours. We are also grateful to APIRG and the City of Edmonton for sponsoring this initiative with funding support.
