Created for participants in Edmonton Unlimited’s Built World Challenge, this 60-minute workshop will help innovators understand the fundamentals of artificial intelligence and machine learning and begin exploring how these technologies could create value within a startup or new solution.

​Amii will introduce:

• ​What artificial intelligence and machine learning are

• ​What machine learning can- and cannot- do

• ​Business use cases for artificial intelligence and machine learning within startups

• ​The fundamentals of generative AI

• ​Principles of responsible AI

​Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of the opportunities and limitations associated with AI and machine learning, along with a stronger foundation for considering whether these technologies may be relevant to their Built World Challenge solution.

​The session is designed for innovators from a range of professional, business and technical backgrounds. No previous experience with machine learning, coding, mathematics or data science is required.

​Following the workshop, participants will receive a 30-minute guided tour of Amii’s Edmonton headquarters and learn more about its research, talent development and applied artificial intelligence work.
