Dr Anne Aspler will be in store on Tuesday, October 13th at 7:00pm to celebrate the launch of her memoir, Rise After Silence, with Edmonton emergency physician, advocate, and public educator Dr. Shazma Mithani.

RISE AFTER SILENCE is a visceral, unsparing memoir about the collision of professional duty and inherited silence. It is the story of how private violence finds its way to the surface — and how, patient by patient, truth by truth, it can be named, set down, and refused. Honest, harrowing, and ultimately hopeful: a book about what we inherit, the freedom of choosing what we pass on, and how strangers in our worst hours can sometimes quietly hand us back to ourselves.

ANNE ASPLER is an emergency physician and brain health speaker. Childhood experience with food insecurity and family violence pulled her toward humanitarian medicine, work that has taken her to more than thirty countries. Rise After Silence is her first book.
