Celebrate Vietnamese Heritage Month with an afternoon of Vietnamese poetry and proverbs.

Join Chúng Ta Cùng Nhau (We Are Together) Vietnamese-Edmonton Cultural Society and special guests as we listen to prepared Vietnamese poems and proverbs and discuss their English translations and meanings. Listen, read, share verses that carry our families' memories, humour, and everyday wisdom.

Together, we'll explore how language keeps us connected across generations.

Guests are welcome to bring their own Vietnamese poem, a câu ca dao (folk song or poem), or saying / phrase from home, English, Vietnamese, or both to discuss with participants at this intimate gathering.

ABOUT VIETNAMESE HERITAGE MONTH

Vietnamese Heritage Month occurs each year in September, and was first officially declared provincially from the Government of Alberta in 2024, but has had little attention, awareness or events associated within the community since.

Our non-profit group Chúng Ta Cùng Nhau Vietnamese-Edmonton Cultural Society is starting to create more awareness around Vietnamese Heritage Month, including organizing a kick-off ceremony at City Hall this Tuesday, September 1, 2026 and a Poetry & Proverbs event on Saturday, September 12, 2026. We are working with other local Vietnamese businesses and groups to coordinate Vietnamese Heritage Month promotions and activities.
