The Edmonton Saxophone Quartet will perform vividly colourful and energetic music from all corners of the globe, and some right here in Edmonton!
Anchored by Guillermo Lago's quartet Ciudades, his six movements celebrate music from six diverse cities from around the world. Edmonton composer Joseph Lai's Saxophone Quartet No. 2 celebrates Chinese folk tunes infused with neo-Classical intertwining lines. Emma O'Halloran's Night Music is a driving, minimalist work with a brief homage to Gloria Estefan's Miami Sound Machine band.
