Tech for Good Alliance is a monthly working session for people building technology, infrastructure, and collaborative systems that support stronger communities and better social outcomes.

This is not a traditional networking event.

The Alliance is intended to function as an active working group — a space where nonprofits, social enterprises, technologists, researchers, civic leaders, founders, and community builders can identify overlapping work, connect fragmented efforts, and coordinate around shared challenges and opportunities.

Across Edmonton, many organizations are already building pieces of "Tech for Good" in silos — from coordination platforms and shared data systems to food security infrastructure, social procurement tools, community technology, workforce development initiatives, and collaborative service models.

The purpose of Tech for Good Alliance is to help identify those pieces, and focus our efforts so we can:

  • Better understand the ecosystem we are collectively building

  • Identify duplication, gaps, and opportunities for alignment

  • Share knowledge, resources, and infrastructure

  • Coordinate efforts across sectors and organizations

  • Amplify impact through collaboration instead of competition

  • Commercialize the output for social good
  • Focus collective energy where it can create the greatest long-term outcomes

Each gathering is designed to be collaborative, practical, and action-oriented — more like a recurring strategy and coordination session than a networking mixer.

Hosted on the last Wednesday of every month at Arcadia Brewing, these sessions are intentionally informal and accessible while still centered on meaningful work and relationship-building.

Arcadia is proudly pet friendly, and Wednesdays are also "Time for Kindness" days — with 10% of all Wednesday profits supporting our most vulnerable citizens in downtown Edmonton.

If you're interested in building, supporting, researching, funding, coordinating, or exploring technology and systems that can improve social outcomes, you're welcome at the table.
