Lindy Hop is a dynamic social street dance style from the 1930s and 40s swing-era. The artistry comes from improvisation and musicality with both solo and partner dance steps, alongside jazz music
Birkley began Lindy Hop in 2002 and founded Sugar Swing in 2005, making dance his full-time career in 2009. With expertise in Lindy Hop, solo jazz, tap, and Balboa, he has built one of Canada’s leading dedicated swing dance schools as an instructor, choreographer, performer, DJ, coach, and owner.
