“listening to dance” is a practice of widening the senses. It is a sensory-based guided improvisation to warm up the body, guiding the body through verbal and visual cues towards an attentive-soft-playful body. Wth encouragement and pleasure, the aim is to play with movement together and connect with the experience of the body through dance, sensory-based guided improvisation rooted in contemporary dance and somatic practices.

Guided by diasporic experience, autoethnography and the heart, Camille Huang is a performer making physical works unfolding between the realms of dance, scenography and performance. They explore shifting the center of attention, the social and political experiences of the body and the visceral, intimate and playful. Camille also holds a BA in Anthropology and graduated from L’École de Danse Contemporaine de Montréal. They are an asian diasporic settler in Tiohtiá:ke / Mooniyang / Montréal.
