Finn Siegers will present original compositions and arrangements that feature contemplative passages of singable melodies.
Line-up:
Caleb Hunt – Tenor Saxophone
Finn Siegers – Electric Guitar and Effects
Jack MacDonald – Upright Bass
Braeden Detert – Drums and Cymbals
Interactivity will be spotlighted in the swell of a subdued electric sound inspired by the likes of Bill Frisell, Jakob Bro and Jeff Parker. Siegers’ compositions fuse Jazz with Ambient music and are informed by folk melodic sensibilities that make up an appeasing auditory experience. The band features Caleb Hunt on saxophone, a multi-instrumentalist whose diverse musical experiences contribute greatly to his distinct voice and open ear. Jack MacDonald plays the bass steadily, calmly, and responsively, which brings any collective he is a part of together. Nobody plays the drums and cymbals like Braeden Detert; his constant rhythmic and timbral curiosity is apparent and brings wonder to the group sound. Finn Siegers leads the band with his electric energy on the guitar, aiming to bring an openness that subtly guides the music in unexpected directions, pushed and pulled by the four unique musicians. The compositions will spotlight forms that guide sonorous themes, but will also feature passages of carefully composed contrapunctal duets. Together, the musicians aim to bring Siegers’ original compositions and arrangements to life, pulling fresh sounds from years of deep listening and the careful study of their craft.
