Canada's defence spending is accelerating at a pace not seen in decades, and Edmonton-area businesses are positioned to benefit. With a growing national focus on domestic industrial capacity, the opportunity for local suppliers has never been greater. The Chamber has partnered directly with the Department of National Defence (DND) and the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) to deliver a first-of-its-kind Defence Procurement Summit.

Procurement officers and subject-matter experts will be on-site to work directly with Edmonton businesses, giving members unmatched access to the people and processes that drive defence contracts.

Attendees will also receive hands-on training on the Tender Management Application (TMA), the federal system used to streamline defence procurement for qualified vendors — so you leave ready to act, not just informed.

CFB Edmonton is one of the largest military installations in Western Canada, with active and ongoing procurement needs across construction, facilities maintenance, and professional services. That means real contracts, close to home.

Defence procurement spans far more industries than most people expect. DND and CAF source from an enormous range of sectors, including, IT and cybersecurity, logistics and transportation, food services, healthcare and medical supplies, engineering, manufacturing, cleaning and janitorial services, clothing and textiles, training and education, and administrative support. If your business supplies a product or service of any kind, there is likely a defence application for it.

Whether you're new to defence contracting or looking to expand your footprint, this is a generational opportunity to position your business at the centre of Canada's renewed commitment to defence.
