Public Interest Alberta Gala & Conference
May 7, 2026 to May 9, 2026
Our conference this year is focused on our common cause, our collective action, and pledging to work together to bring real, lasting and positive change to Alberta.
We need to come together in a meaningful way. As Albertans. As civil society. As workers. As communities.
The future of our province is at stake. With a Premier who sides with separatists at every turn and works to dismantle public institutions and services with the full weight of government, it is time to build an alternative that unites Alberta with a powerful and positive vision for the future.
Too many Albertans are suffering as a result of the direct attacks on our democracy and our institutions. The UCP government has taken away the rights of workers, gender diverse youth, immigrants, refugees and newcomers and dismantled core public services to the point that schools are overcapacity across the province, more than a million Albertans have no family doctor, and debt and homelessness are skyrocketing.
In our travels around the province, one thing keeps coming to the forefront: we need to work together to stop the destruction happening to our communities and public systems at the hands of Danielle Smith and the UCP.
Most Albertans want a different approach. The vast majority of us don’t want to separate from Canada and flirt with becoming the 51st state. The vast majority of us don’t want to see healthcare and education dismantled for expensive private solutions that don’t work. The vast majority of us don’t want to destroy our CPP and become part of a risky new experiment designed by Danielle Smith.
We are so excited that Charlie Angus from Meidas, Dr. Paul Parks former AMA (Alberta Medical Association) President, Fae Johnstone from Momentum, and Dr. Yipeng Ge will be joining us as keynote speakers. From there we will have over a dozen workshops, plenaries, and panels that will all lead toward developing our common cause: a coalition with a bold and positive vision for Alberta built by all of us.
We are inviting you to be part of it: to join our broad coalition of teachers, families, workers, activists, students, nurses, doctors, paramedics, environmentalists, farmers and landowners.
Imagine, everyday Albertans coming together to end Danielle Smith’s destructive reign by offering ideas and solutions that unite us, instead of tearing us apart.
That’s what our conference will offer. We hope you will join us and pledge to build this coalition.
