Light Strikes: Walk of Honour is a once in a lifetime interactive experience. Showing at the Beaver Hills House Park in downtown Edmonton, the presentation will incorporate live music, film, dance and art in a multimedia experience that celebrates Indigenous excellence and presence. The journey of the event brings us from pre contact, to colonization, resistance to reclamation using various media of story telling- highlighting film and honourees inducted into the walk of honour which is located at the park.

We will have the name of the Walk of Honour in Cree syllabics installed at the site that will be lit up at night.

A large tipi will be put up in the park and will be the focus of the projections, along other elements in the environment. We will begin with a prayer and honour song and invite attendees to light sage smudge with the help of volunteers. The smoke will rise above the tipi and form another surface to project upon. Each musical act will be in a separate area of the park around the tipi and will be in darkness until they play their song. The show will vary depending on where you view it from with dancers performing in various sites in the park. After the performance, you are invited to hang out and listen to our DJ, explore the installations and dance!
