Soprano Book Club: an evening of literature-meets-musical theatre. Let us serenade you with some of the most beautiful soprano songs (and duets!) from musicals based on books—"War and Peace," "The Secret Garden," "The Bridges of Madison County," and more. And if the music inspires you to dive into—or revisit—some of the stories featured, there will be books available for purchase at the event.

Erin V-P (vocalist—soprano) is a singer, actor, aerialist, music teacher, and mom (to one human- and three fur-babies). Musical theatre has been her passion since elementary school, and is something she loves to share as a performer, music director, and teacher. Recent performances include "Miracle on 34th Street" (with NUOVA Vocal Arts), and a self-produced concert of the music of Kate Bush. Instagram: @erinvpater

Daniel Belland (pianist) is a pianist, music director, and composer based in Edmonton. Recent credits include The Pansy Cabaret (Guys in Disguise) and In My Own Little Corner (RISER) as well as composing original scores for One Song (Margin Release,) Imaginary Friend, Cult Cycle (Straight Edge Theatre,) and short film scores for Delivery (Anam Caras) and Home Again (Vicarious Playground). Dan is also half of the queer pop duo Homofonik (with Josh Travnik.) @danielbelland

Martin Galba (guest vocalist) has over 25 years of experience as a performer, director, choreographer, producer and author. He sang with the Edmonton Opera Chorus for nearly two decades. Recently, he released the second book of his three-part novel series called 'Zonks and the Gate Keepers' and directed 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' at Festival Place. Some of his other credits include: 'Miss Saigon', 'South Pacific', 'Avenue Q', 'Titanic', 'La Cage Aux Folles', 'Jane Eyre', 'Next to Normal', 'Ragtime', 'Phantom of the Opera' and 'The Bridges of Madison County'. In February 2026, he will be performing Danilo Danilovich in 'The Merry Widow' (directed by Brian Deedrick).
