Language barriers can undermine safe and equitable home care. This is true especially when point-of-care staff encounter a wide diversity of languages in a single day and may resort to informal workarounds. VHA Home HealthCare identified language barriers as problem in need of a solution.
This webinar highlights VHA Home HealthCare’s AI Translation Pilot as a real-world example of an end-to-end, repeatable approach to moving from problem identification to solution finding, implementation, and evaluation. The AI Translation pilot design was shaped with input from VHA’s Innovation Advisory Committee (a mix of point-of-care staff, client partners, caregivers, and organizational leaders) through structured demonstrations and cross-organizational feedback. Three AI-enabled translation tools were then selected, implemented, and evaluated. This approach demonstrates a promising practice for moving a potential solution to real-world technology adoption.
By participating in this webinar, you will:
- Understand how to define a problem and gauge organizational willingness for change.
- Learn the steps to building an implementation plan that supports frontline adoption – from user access and onboarding, authentication, privacy and security, to training and support.
- Discover practical measures that support the successful design of a pilot project evaluation.
