Artful Embroidery: Holiday Bookmarks

In this course you will design and stitch your own fabric bookmark using simple counted embroidery stitches to create a geometric pattern. Although the technique is called blackwork, coloured threads can be used in the design.
Your instructor will provide instruction on technique, graphics, videos, and in-person advice on design, and example pieces to use as reference.
Course Outcomes
Upon completing this course, students should have learned the following:
• how to transfer your designs onto the fabric
• several foundational surface work stitches
• how to start and finish threads with no visible knots
