Audreys Genre Book Club is a free monthly social reading group. Genre-specific books are selected by our booksellers to inspire reflection and discussion. Expect a range of themes, ideas and styles, and a warm atmosphere in which to enjoy relaxed conversation.
Hafsa's Choice for November is 'Trespasses' by Louise Kennedy. This powerful and emotionally layered novel follows a young woman caught between personal desire and political violence. Set against the backdrop of the Troubles in Northern Ireland, Kennedy offers a deeply human perspective on a turbulent time in Irish history. Through lyrical yet unflinching prose, she explores themes such as love, identity, community, and moral conflict. We're looking forward to engaging in meaningful discussion about how ordinary lives are shaped—and often shattered—by the weight of larger forces.
