When it all comes down to you and the corner of your desk, how do you work with high expectations and limited to non-existent resources? How do you run an effective and successful fund development program in support of your small to mid-sized organization?

Join Dree Thomson, ACFRE and Emmy Steubing, CFRE in this dynamic conversation. Bring your questions, challenges and inspirations as we explore solo and very small team fund development realities, best practices and solutions that work.

Speakers:

Emmy Stuebing, BA CFRE

Emmy Stuebing has spent her entire career working in the charitable sector. Since 1997, Emmy has held various roles in fund development, communications and nonprofit leadership within several great nonprofits, as well as volunteered on numerous boards and committees.

In early 2021, Emmy “joined the herd” as the new CEO for the Zebra Child & Youth Advocacy Centre, working to provide essential services and supports for children and youth who have experienced abuse. She is very proud of leading the efforts to fundraise, build and operationalize a new “forever home” for the Zebra Centre, which opened in October 2024.

In 2010, Emmy was recognized as one of Edmonton’s Top 40 under 40 by Avenue Edmonton magazine and in 2015, the Edmonton Community Foundation recognized Emmy as an inspiring donor who leads by example by establishing her own endowment fund to give back to the community in perpetuity. Earlier this year, Emmy was honoured to receive a King Charles III Coronation Medal in recognition of her dedication to improving the lives of young people in our province.

In her spare time, Emmy loves live music and theatre, reading, golfing, collecting eyeglasses and organizing events, especially if there is a theme involved! But her favourite pastime is going for daily walks and exploring new places with her dog Odin and partner Shawn.
