Learn about Wyvern's journey from a University of Alberta Lab to launching satellites into space, powered by some great financing provided by Yaletown Partners.

Attention fundraising-curious founders!

Have you ever wondered how a startup moves through the fundraising process, and actually secures venture capital financing?

Come learn about Wyvern's journey from a University of Alberta Lab to launching satellites into space, powered by some great financing provided by Yaletown Partners.

Join Chris Robson (CEO of Wyvern), Yasmine Al-Hussein (Investment Manager at Yaletown) and Arden Tse (Investment Manager at Yaletown) as they discuss the process from beginning to end, and learn about the thought processes that drove each decision.

Chris Robson is the Co‑Founder and CEO of Wyvern, a Canadian space company specializing in satellite-based hyperspectral imaging. With a background in mechanical engineering from the University of Alberta, Chris previously contributed to Alberta's first satellite, Ex-Alta 1. At Wyvern, he leads the development of cutting-edge deployable optics technology, aiming to make high-resolution Earth observation data more accessible for agriculture, environmental monitoring, and defense.

Yasmine Al-Hussein is an Investment Associate with Accelerate Funds II to IV, based in Edmonton, AB. She plays a key role in supporting early-stage Alberta-based technology startups, leveraging her deep expertise in the startup tech community. Yasmine is known for her dedication to entrepreneurs across Alberta, where she is trusted as both a team leader and an investor.

Arden Tse is an Edmonton-based investment professional who heads up the team that manages the Accelerate Funds II to IV, focusing on early-stage tech startups in Alberta. With more than 20 years of investment management experience in the private and public sector, Arden has been fortunate enough to cover multiple asset classes, from commercial real estate to public equities to venture capital.
