Carissa Halton launches her novel, Revolution Songs, with talk of secret societies and double agents alongside jazz, cocktails, and friends.

Carissa Halton launches her novel, Revolution Songs, with talk of secret societies & double agents alongside jazz, cocktails & friends.

Along with live jazz by the 8-piece Basement Collective, signature 1930s cocktails / mocktails, and prizes for best 1920s and 30s costumes, Carissa will take you behind the scenes of her debut historical novel. Revolution Songs offers a unique take on Canada's radical roots telling the little-known story of an illegal Communist union, the rise of the Canadian KKK, and the women who fought on both sides. Carissa will dive into fun facts from her research as well as reflect on what the 1930s has to teach us about polarization, activism, and community today.

Kids welcome. RSVP required.

NOTE: The venue is accessed by a flight of stairs and is not wheelchair accessible.
