New Jubilee Forest Tours

Join Josh Key and Nathan Binnema for a forest tour at New Jubilee Forest. Josh will introduce you to some of the inhabitants of the forest: learn how to identify the plants, fungi, and possibly animals that call New Jubilee Forest home. Nathan will lead a meditative forest and nature connection walk.
Depending on numbers, we may take the whole group through each segment of the tour together, or we may split into two groups, and swap tour guides partway through. Please come prepared for the weather, with appropriate footwear, sunscreen, insect repellant, water, snacks, and whatever you need to feel comfortable in the forest.
New Jubilee Forest is in an oxbow of the river in the sparsely developed Horse Hills District. It is not accessible by bus or bicycle (unless you are willing to cycle some distance on gravel roads). Please let us know if you need a ride to the site, and we will arrange a carpool.
To get there by car, travel north on Manning Drive, and turn right just before the temple, then immediately left onto a road that parallels Manning for a short distance, then curves east to become 195ave. Continue straight, across a set of railroad tracks, then turn left onto 33st. NE a the end of a long row of trees. Traveling north on 33st. NE, turn right into the driveway with the sign that says "Fern's Flowers" (immediately after a sign that says "Norbest Farms"). Park on the left (North) side of the driveway at the top of the hill. Call 587-337-4189 (Nathan's cell) if you lose your way or need directions.
This will be a slow walk on wide dirt trails in the forest with some moderately steep slopes. We will walk rain or shine, only cancelling for extreme weather, or if fewer than 3 people register. If we cancel, you have the choice of rolling your tickets forward to the next tour, or receiving a refund. If you need to cancel, we require 24 hours notice in order to offer you a refund.
