In final rehearsals for their production of The Wizard of Oz, everything goes wrong. Can teamwork and community help the show go on?

Rising Sun Theatre, now in its 21st season, is a non-profit Edmonton theatre troupe that helps adults with developmental disabilities, facilitated by theatre professionals, to collaboratively create and perform their own original plays for the public. This year's mainstage show is our brand new backstage comedy, WICKED DISASTER! : The troupe's in final rehearsals for their production of the Wizard of Oz, but everything goes terribly wrong... Costumes are ruined, Dorothy is stranded, and the director is missing! They must rely on each other and their community to get through this Wicked Disaster.

The show will be followed by an informal get-together with audience and actors over refreshments and snacks. This year we're performing at Workshop West Playwrights' Theatre/Gateway Theatre, 8529 Gateway Blvd. Paid parking available. Come share our joy!

There will be a very small number of tickets available at the door if we're not sold out, but we prefer you pre-purchase tickets via this eventbrite site. This is an accessible space with room for wheelchairs and walkers. We have a discounted rate for low income, children, physically-needed accompanying persons, students or seniors.
