Free Virtual Conference: Queer Representation in the Performing Arts

June 6, 2025 to June 8, 2025

More Information

Join Voulez-Vous Productions from June 6 – 8, 2025, for a free Pan-Canadian virtual conference focused on the inclusion and representation of queer women artists and gender-nonconforming individuals in the performing arts.

This conference is a space for artists, cultural workers, and arts institutions to come together, exchange knowledge, and explore ways to represent queer arts at the institutional level. Through insightful panels, discussions, and community-building sessions, we aim to bridge gaps between grassroots and institutional organizations, fostering meaningful Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) practices.

Featured Panels:

Queer Arts in Institutional Spaces – Discussing challenges and progress in the recognition of queer arts at an institutional level.

Feminist Theatre Then vs. Now – Examining the evolution of feminist theatre and its growing inclusion of queer and trans stories.

Queerness and Rurality – Addressing representation and inclusion of queer and trans artists in rural communities.

Lived Experiences of Transfeminine People in the Music Industry – Exploring the realities of transfeminine artists in the music industry.
