Join us for a timely, forward-looking panel unpacking Canada’s commitments at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) — and, more importantly, exploring what comes next.

With the recent Canadian election behind us, we stand at a crucial moment to reflect on progress, assess shortcomings, and push for real, measurable action on gender equity. This discussion will dig into the critical issue of accountability: how can civil society, youth leaders, advocates, and community members ensure that Canada’s international commitments translate into real change here at home?

What to Expect:

  • A thoughtful, honest conversation about Canada’s gender equity landscape
  • A spotlight on accountability mechanisms tied to UN commitments
  • Perspectives from youth voices, experienced advocates, and leaders across sectors
  • Opportunities for attendees — whether in person or online — to engage and reflect on how we can all help drive progress forward

Featured Panelists:
Erin Davis
Lisa Feehan
Francesca Ghossein
Mabintou Ouattara

Moderated by: Katherine O’Neill

Why Attend?
This event is more than a panel — it’s a rallying point for everyone who believes that words must lead to action. Whether you’re a longtime advocate, a student, a policymaker, or simply someone passionate about advancing gender equity in Canada, your voice and presence matter.

Hosted in partnership by YWCA Edmonton and the Business and Professional Women’s Club (BPW), two organizations deeply committed to driving meaningful change, this event offers an essential space to come together, learn, and fuel momentum for a more equitable future.

We invite you to join us, in person or online, as we challenge complacency and chart the path forward.
