Climate Chats is a facilitated workshop that will help you directly address your eco-distress in a supportive community of likeminded peers.

Do you see the terrifying outcomes that are already happening to our neighbours and think "this is hopeless, what could I possibly do"? Do your feelings overwhelm you when talking to others about the climate emergency? Do you feel disengaged from climate action?

Presented by Waste Free Edmonton and Not Ladylike Community, our peer facilitated Climate Chats help you work through your big feelings of anxiety and eco-distress, and reconnect with taking action in your community.

Our goals for this peer-led session are to help you:

  • Directly address and accept your feelings about the climate crisis
  • Recognize the community you are building and craft deeper connections to each other
  • Discover and access the internal mechanisms that keep you motivated
  • Build your tolerance for guilt, shame, anxiety
  • Cultivate your imagination, creativity, hopefulness
  • Practice heart-centered and confident dialogue
  • Ignite your self-compassion
  • Feel re-engaged with climate action

Session starts promptly at 3pm.

Workshop is located in the basement of Audrey's Books on Jasper Ave. There is no elevator access. Please check with staff for directions to the event space.

This workshop is best for mature teens and older. Facilitation is in English only. FULL accessibility information for the venue is available on our website: notladylikecommunity.ca/climate-chats
