Ever wished you could show off your grandpa's old lunchbox, or the menu from your parents' restaurant? Join this family-friendly pop-up museum!

Hosted by the Edmonton City as Museum Project (ECAMP) and Edmonton Public Library, this event will give you a chance to see your family treasures in a new light and learn about our city's history. Bring an object from home that tells a story about working life in your family, and we'll help you add it to our collaborative exhibition. It could be a wooden spoon you inherited, a picket sign, or even a souvenir your mom brought back from a work trip.

What to Expect:
Transform your object into a museum artifact with our creative display materials and expert guidance from ECAMP staff. Kids are welcome to join in. We'll provide everything you need – from display pedestals to artifact labels – to showcase your item in a professional museum setting. You can also just come by and enjoy the exhibit.

Special Features:

  • Professional photography of each object, with participants receiving a free digital image of their piece
  • Optional storytelling sessions where you can share your object's history
  • Featured guest speaker Fergus Brooks-Starks, offering perspectives on work and heritage through their own artifact's story
  • Curated display of historical artifacts from ECAMP's collection to spark inspiration

This interactive exhibition offers a wonderful opportunity to contribute to the collective story of work in Edmonton while connecting with fellow community members and their unique histories.

Visit anytime between 12pm and 2pm to add your artifact or see the displays.

Note: This is a 2-hour exhibition from 12pm to 2pm. All artifacts will be returned to their owners at the end of the event.
