Ukrainian settlers brought a wealth of traditional knowledge that enabled them to settle, survive, and thrive on the Prairies.
Workshop Host Michael Mucz authored Baba’s Kitchen Medicines and his latest research has him translating Household Doctor: How to Treat Yourself with Home Remedies Without the Help of a Doctor by M.M. Belegai written in the early 1900s in Edmonton.
The book covers a variety of treatments using various household items or practices and while the author was not a doctor, he compiled information from various European and Slavic medical books selecting what he felt was useful and practical.
Join Michael for an insightful discussion on his research into this publication.
