The Canadian Premiere of the groundbreaking documentary " UKE: The Untold Story of Hockey Legends", directed and produced by acclaimed Ukrainian filmmaker Volodymyr Mula. This film is an incredible and unique opportunity to explore the extraordinary stories of Ukrainian-Canadian hockey legends who shaped the history of the National Hockey League.

The film highlights the enduring legacy of over 50 NHL champions of Ukrainian descent—more than any other nationality outside North America. Through rare footage, personal interviews, and gripping storytelling, "UKE" sheds light on the lives of legendary players such as Wayne Gretzky, Johnny Bucyk, Ken Daneyko, and Ruslan Fedotenko, revealing their connection to Ukraine and their lasting influence on the world of hockey. Walter Gretzky, affectionately known as Canada's hockey dad, makes a special appearance in the film too.

The premiere event in Edmonton is much more than just a film screening. The evening will be hosted by Kelly Hrudey, renowned hockey analyst and former NHL goaltender. Guests will enjoy a Ukrainian-style meal included with their ticket, immersing them in the rich culture and heritage of Ukraine and Ukrainian Canadians. The film will be shown in English with English subtitles, ensuring accessibility for all audiences. VIP tickets give you access to a pre-screening reception with Kelly Hrudey and director Volodymyr Mula.

The "UKE" story underscores the resilience of Ukraine and its people, making this event a poignant reminder of the country's ongoing struggle and cultural strength.

"Our task was a challenging one: months of work with international archives, interviews with hockey stars across North America, and journeys through freezing Canadian prairies. Thanks to the support of hundreds of passionate individuals, we were able to bring this project to life. I invite everyone to watch the film and be inspired by this shared history." - Director Volodymyr Mula
