Join us at the Centre for Research for Teacher Education and Development (CRTED, Faculty of Education, University of Alberta) as we welcome, Deborah Dobbins, Executive Director, Shiloh Centre for Multicultural Roots, to share her stories of the rich Black history that exists in Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Deborah shares a personal insight into the journey of the first community of the African Diaspora and the need to acknowledge the historical and present-day contributions made in Alberta.

Deborah Dobbins is a retired teacher,  Edmonton Public Schools, as well as a direct descendant of the Indigenous Blacks of the Prairies, specifically Wildwood and surrounding communities.
