Rig Hand, Edmonton’s first craft distillery, showcases Alberta’s heritage with handcrafted local whiskies paired with meats and cheeses!

A family-based business, Rig Hand produces exceptional handcrafted liquor using locally sourced products, while paying tribute to Alberta's rich history in both agriculture and resource development.

In Beyond The Barrel: Whisky Edition with Rig Hand Distillery, Matt Lyon, L’OCA’s lead mixologist, will introduce you to three of Rig Hand’s signature whiskies, each complemented by a tasting plate featuring carefully chosen meats and cheeses.

Rocking R 100% Rye Whisky

Renowned for its hot spice notes and a smooth finish, Rocking R 100% Rye Whisky follows a century-old tradition.

Produced using rye from The Knull Family Farm, Rocking R 100% Rye Whisky is a testament to all four generations who have cultivated their land.

Diamond S Single Malt Whisky

With Diamond S Single Malt Whisky, Rig Hand has tapped into the Stewart family’s Scottish heritage to produce a Scotch-style whisky using the best quality single malt barley Alberta produces.

Each batch is moved through four different types of used barrels to stack flavors on top of each other, creating a complex, rounded, fruity flavor profile.

Lazy B Corn Whisky

There's nothing lazy about how Lazy B Corn Whisky is made!

Inspired by Stillwrights Distillery in Fairborn, Ohio, Rig Hand produces this corn whisky using a traditional recipe that has been adapted for our Northern climate.

Local corn farmer, Cory Jespersen, devised a unique solution: harvesting the frozen corn directly from the field in the month of November to create a truly Albertan, sweet sipping whisky.
