Whether you're searching for inspiration or deepening your understanding, talking to someone who knows what they're talking about can take you to places you've never imagined.

Join Featured Writer, David Berry, for tips and strategies for every aspect of interviewing subjects both willing and unwilling, from how to plan and structure an interview to how to give respectful and interrogative space to how best to use them for whatever project you're pursuing.

David Berry grew up on the edge of the city and moved into Edmonton to attend the University of Alberta. While there he wrote for and helped run the student paper, The Gateway, and has been writing in some form or another
ever since. He profiled and critiqued the book, film, music and theatre scenes first in Edmonton for the dearly departed Vue Weekly, and then nationally for the National Post, and has contributed essays, criticism and features to the Globe and Mail, The Walrus, CBC, Hazlitt and many other places, a few of which also still exist.
He also serves as an editorial consultant for Coach House Books, and most recently edited Kate Black’s Big Mall,
about West Edmonton Mall, some small indication of his commitment to helping tell Edmonton stories to a wider audience. He can regularly be seen talking to authors and other artists both in print and on stage, and is very excited to get a chance to talk to some at the library, too.

This is an online program. To receive a link and passcode to the online class, please register with your name and email address and instructions will be sent to you within 24 hours of the session.
