Connect with Indigenous thought leaders, storytellers, and Knowledge Holders through this engaging and dynamic six-part speaker series.

The FIRE Indigenous Spotlight Series, funded by the Cultural Heritage Initiatives Program and Edmonton Heritage Council (EHC), aims to provide unique opportunities for urban Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples to learn from and build relationships with Indigenous thought leaders, researchers, storytellers and Knowledge Holders.

This six-part series, celebrates the significant and ongoing efforts of Indigenous peoples in preservation and resurgence of their own traditional and contemporary cultures, sciences, languages, histories, and stories within Treaty 6 Territory and what is today known as Alberta.

Join us for an enlightening session with Gerry Lawson on the Indigitization, a collaborative initiative enabling Indigenous communities to preserve and manage their cultural heritage. Learn about the tools and practices for digitizing traditional knowledge, stories, and histories.

Childcare and ASL interpretation services will also be available on request.
