Artist Activation | Brin Steeves: “Artist for Hire”
Thursday, Sept. 26, 2024
2:00pm to 7:00pm
26
Come join Brin Steeves in the Main Hall of the AGA to explore this unique project.
Artist for Hire is a multidisciplinary project by local artist Brin Steeves that involves the creation of 35-40 large scale ceramic vases, paired with a body of writing exploring themes of impermanence, artistic self-worth and the influences of online virality. The artwork and culminating performance acts as a metaphor for artists losing control of their art to please others as well as a tangible way for the artist to regain autonomy over her artwork.
Join Brin Steeves in the Main Hall on September 26, from 2-7pm to explore this unique project, and learn more about the artist’s process. A special presentation and performance is scheduled at 5:30pm.
Please note that the AGA’s Free Night, offering free admission to all, takes place from 4-7pm.
