Pronouns 101: Who & How

Come join us for Pronouns 101: Who & How. We will explore the importance of using correct pronouns and how to do so respectfully!
Research shows that the brain is loyal to the first idea. This can be challenging when it comes to a change in pronouns. Have you ever encountered a friend or family member who has changed their pronouns, only to find yourself unintentionally misgendering them? Have you felt awkward when asking someone their pronouns? This workshop will help you move forward with confidence.
Join us at Holyrood Community League for an informative workshop on pronouns. This in-person event will cover the basics of pronouns, including how to respect and use them correctly and how to correct yourself when you fumble. Whether you're new to the concept or looking to deepen your understanding, this is the perfect opportunity to learn and ask questions in a welcoming environment.
We will spend time practicing:
- How to share your pronouns
- How to ask someone their pronouns
- What to say when you accidentally misgender someone
- How to respond when someone asserts their pronouns
We welcome allies, community members, and gender diverse people to come and engage in this conversational workshop. Together we can step forward into a more inclusive and brave space.
To note: Safety is paramount. The organizer reserves the right to dismiss participants who compromise this learning environment by way of intentional disrespect. This is a learning environment.
