This talk will focus on green hydrogen, the clean energy carrier that's making waves in our journey for a sustainable future.

In this talk, we'll explore green hydrogen, how it is produced through the environmentally friendly process of electrolysis using renewable energy sources or photolysis, and why it is considered a key player in reducing carbon emissions across various industries. We'll also discover the challenges, potential applications, and current state of technology and infrastructure required to implement green hydrogen solutions globally.

Dr. Shiva Mohajernia is an Assistant Professor of Chemical and Materials Engineering at the University of Alberta, Canada. Before joining U of A, she worked as a catalysis group leader at the Chemistry & Structure of Novel Materials Institute in Germany. In 2020, Dr. Mohajernia earned her Ph.D. in Material Science and Engineering from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, also in Germany. She leads the Energy Materials Research Group (NRGMATs) at the Faculty of Engineering. Her group focuses on novel material development for green H2 production.
