Good Grief is a space for Jake Kimble to process his loss and to grieve. A multidisciplinary Chipewyan (Dëne Sųłıné) artist from Treaty 8 territory in the Northwest Territories, his practice utilizes photography and self-portrait. Using imagery of his whole body, he unpacked his life and experiences to understand his past and present.

As both artist and subject, Kimble overlays his image with phrases that capture the moment's feeling. Within each image and line is a deep longing for rest, for a moment of quiet, to float on a lake and just be. For just a minute, Kimble would like to sit without his grief sitting next to him.
