Ogboingba Tries to Change Her Fate adapts a folktale from the Ijaw people of Nigeria about a woman who bravely confronts the creator to try to make changes in her life.
Blending our histories with today, this new play shimmers with bravery, setbacks, determination, and discoveries. The creators: actors, designers, choreographer, dramaturg, and musicians, are from diverse ethno-cultural backgrounds – we draw on our cultures as we weave multiple African, Caribbean, and Black (ACB) stories, music and dance. And we explore how we live in our contemporary and diverse world.
Free showing available on May 2, 2024. RSVP required.
