Audreys Book Club is a free monthly gathering for a lively discussion of a chosen title. A great way to pass a Tuesday night, meet new people with interesting taste in books, and get to know the books that our booksellers love talking about. We choose books from a range of new or backlisted titles, in fiction and non-fiction and all genres.
In April we will discuss Ru, by Kim Thúy. This Canada Reads winner moves seamlessly from past to present, from history to memory and back again, to celebrate life in all its wonder: its moments of beauty and sensuality, brutality and sorrow, comfort and comedy. The novel was adapted into a 2023 film from Charles-Olivier Michaud that premiered at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival.
