A concert to benefit CKUA
Bigger than a house party. Smaller than an arena show. Where cool glasses of bubbly are raised and warm smiles are shared, CKUA Live is the place where we turn it up loud and enjoy live music with the friends we have and those we have yet to meet.
This premiere event will give you opportunities to mix and mingle with CKUA show hosts, the artists and fellow music enthusiasts, all who believe the world is better when connected by music, arts, and culture.
Headliners Leeroy Stagger and Tony D begin at 8:00pm MT.
It's said the cells in your body replace themselves every decade. After 11 albums, two EPs and 17 years as a singer-songwriter, Leeroy Stagger has been wondering if maybe the soul works the same way. Strange Path is the name of Stagger's newest album and book, a name that applies as much to his unexpected route from the BC punk scene to southern-Alberta singer songwriter as it does to the album's own evolution.
Tony D (Diteodoro) presents a high-energy show driven by fiery guitar riffs. He often surprises his audiences with the diversity of the music he weaves into his repertoire. Tony D is the guitarist for the spectacularly successful, JUNO award-winning band MonkeyJunk, and has been laying it down for over forty years.
