Magpie Books
Magpie Books was founded with the mission to provide a space for community members to gather, read, write, and uplift social and political movements. Magpie’s curation prioritises literature written by Black, Indigenous, racialized, queer and trans authors and topics that focus on liberation, oppression, activism, grassroots organisation, and mutual aid. Magpie Books is modelled structurally after a workers co-operative; employees and shareholders make the same hourly wage, and all decisions are made collectively, using a consensus model. Magpie Books is bookseller owned and operated.
