The Fairest Tale of All
The beloved fairy tale is transformed in Snow White, a world premiere ballet that offers a fresh interpretation of the classic story while exploring themes of innocence, courage, and resilience. This visually captivating production reimagines the tale for today’s audiences, following Snow White’s journey as she confronts jealousy, danger, and ultimately discovers her own inner strength.
As the story unfolds, audiences are drawn into a richly imagined world where the contrast between light and shadow reveals the emotional heart of the narrative. From moments of tenderness and friendship to the looming presence of the stepmother’s envy, the ballet brings depth and dramatic intensity to a story cherished across generations, enhanced by newly designed sets and costumes that bring this world to life with striking detail.
Expressive choreography blends classical ballet with contemporary movement, creating a visually striking and emotionally layered experience. Through dynamic staging, evocative music, and bold theatrical imagery, Snow White transforms a timeless fairy tale into a powerful ballet, bringing Alberta Ballet’s season to a magical close.
